Foodie Penpals REVEALED!

This month, I participated in Foodie Penpals. The lovely Lindsay over at The Lean Green Bean coordinates something ridiculous like around 800 bloggers and readers. She sends you assigns you a pen pal and you send them a little food package. And, of course, someone sends you a little package. Who doesn’t love mail, especially mail you can eat?

My package came from Hope of the beautiful blog Positively Hope and she totally outdid herself:

First of all, there was dark chocolate, so I was won over immediately.

She also sent me just about everything I’ll need to make sushi: a mat, a paddle, nori, sushi rice, and wasabi. I LOVE veggie sushi, but I’ve never thought about making my own before. I looked it up after I received my package and it doesn’t seem as hard or as intimidating as I thought it would. I’m hoping to make some next week.

These Annie’s cheddar bunnies didn’t make it much longer than the chocolate did.

And then there was this:

I had just used up my last tea bag the day before I got Hope’s package and I was in the midst of an allergy related sore throat. I was SO HAPPY to see this wide variety of tea!

Thank you, Hope! I really appreciate everything you sent! And than you, Lindsay, for organizing all of this!

I sent a Foodie Penpal package to Wendy, The Weekend Gourmet which I had a lot of fun putting together and hope she liked!

I’m participating again in June and I would highly recommend Foodie Penpals if you’re interested. It was a lot of fun and a great way to try new ingredients or types of food.
